Kids All Over Again at Universal Studios Singapore

Kino and the photobomber

Universal Studios is a worthy destination when visiting Singapore. It's small-scale if you have been to those in the U.S. or Japan, but who cares? We don't have one in the Philippines!

I can't remember exactly how much the ticket was, but buying from legit travel agencies in Chinatown will cost SGD7-10 cheaper than buying at the gate or booking online.

Getting there begins in Vivo City. There are trains that will take you from Vivo City to Sentosa where Universal Studios Singapore is. But we opted to walk as there are sights to see while walking. For a local who is used to walking, it may only take them 15 minutes the most. For us, it took 30 minutes. Blame it on our pauses for photos. Okay, blame it on our bodies too that are used to tricycles and jeepneys that take us from Point A to Point B.

Sentosa Boardwalk

Travelators will save your lazy butt.

You pay SGD2 here to get into Sentosa Island.

DISCLAIMER: Photos of me aren't in best angles nor with the best view. My aunt can't see through the lens and Kino is too busy to take over. Huhuhu, I know.

You see... The significant name is out of frame.

The ticket includes a SGD5 food stub that you can use at any restaurant in the park, and another SGD5 stub you can use at their novelty shops. They aren't as strict as Disneyland when it comes to bringing in of food. You might wanna sneak in some sandwiches, cookies or chocolate bars on your day bag. A bottle of water will be good too. There's a drinking fountain at the end of Sesame Street. You may refill your bottles there when you run out.

Get a park map at the gate and plan your route in the park. Character appearance schedule is also on a leaflet you can get with the map. Better visit their website prior to visit for info on their rides. For us, we headed right to the fifties diner, then on to Sesame Street.

I still think she's Lady Gaga, not Marilyn Monroe.

Filipino represent! Some of them are former Streetboys.

I've never been on a real roller coaster before. My sister chickened out when we had our chance at Hongkong's Ocean Park before. Because of the long queues at other rides, we tried the Revenge of the Mummy ride. This is where reading prior to visit comes in handy because I didn't know it was a high-speed roller coaster until I was on it.

It was very challenging that even football player-sized co-passengers had tweaked red faces on the photos captured all throughout the ride. But hey, we made it! I'm proud of Kino for laughing about the ride from the time we hopped on it until we got out, and every time we remember thereafter. It was the highlight of our visit at Universal.

The rest of the day are in these pictures.

Oh, this gentleman!

I wanted to try this ride but it was under maintenance that day.

I used to draw this scene, never thought my own Osor the Baby Dinosaur will come to life.

The fluffy Cookie Monster

Elmo is la-la-la-love!
Kino was quite convinced this dinosaur was real.

He finally got the Jurassic Park tumbler he wanted.

A little souvenir shopping

A goodbye photo with some friendlies at Universal Studios
