I'm just like a child so giddy about animated movies. I've seen the trailer several times and it just caught my interest.
I started collecting the 'Oh' Happy Meal with my son even before the movie was shown.

So, the movie....
I don't really expect as much depth if it's an animated movie. The plot is just simple. There's a group of aliens called Boov who move from one place to another as they are chased by the Gorgs, their enemy. They sought refuge on earth and relocated humans to a settlement they have built, and then invaded their homes. Oh, a Boov who couldn't fit in (he 'fits out', he said) mistakenly sent a party invite to all, which sent a signal to their enemy about their whereabouts. While trying to hide from his fellow Boovs, Oh bumped into a human teenager named Tip who wants to find her mother who was relocated by the Boovs during the invasion. That's where their adventure started.
The animation is really good. I think that credit we can give to today's technology. I like the colors in the film. Thanks to the artists behind it.
The plot is pretty predictable, but I like how they played with Oh's words. I find it really funny.
The voices behind the characters are perfect. I can still hear the geek Jim Parsons I watch in the BigBang Theory, as well as Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Steve Martin.
I recommend you watch it with your kids. It teaches a lesson about responsibility for actions, sensitivity, courage and friendship.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
