Emotional About Furious 7
I was emotional about Paul Walker's death back in November 2013. When I read about it on Twitter, I was shaking (no exaggerations there) like I've known him closely.
I've grown with the Fast and Furious franchise since its first installment in 2001. Maybe that's why I feel like I know Vin Diesel and Paul Walker so well, and I could imagine the grief Vin Diesel went through, or is still going through.
The movies never failed to amaze us how they could just crash and blow expensive cars. In Furious 7, they dropped off cars from the plane. As my son has said, "that's the most daredevil.thing ever!"
Tyrese was natural at being funny. Jordana Brewster embraced the sweet domesticated wife character from being a daredevil Mia. Michelle Rodriguez was being soft and emotional apart from being the usual fierce Letty. For most of his scenes, I saw the 'The Rock' in Dwayne Johnson. Ludacris was still the tech whiz to complete the crew. Jason Statham is the villain you'd also want to kill as much as he is a hero in his other movies.
I like the idea that Brian O'Conner did not die in the movie (spoiler alert), although there were hints all throughout the movie that he's gone.
The final scene at the beach... That's where it hit everyone, whether you admit it or not. It was calm, happy and sad at the same time. The last drive with Brian and Dom will make you feel it was already Paul Walker and Vin Diesel. The moment they parted roads, you'll feel it was goodbye.
'See You Again' by Wiz Khalifa feat. Christopher Puth at that final scene was also perfect. I was listening to it in loop when I got home, and even now while I'm writing this at 4am.
You are remembered forever, Paul Walker. You are.
