When we visited Malaysia in 2013, our first destination was Genting Highlands. From KL Central Station, the bus ride takes about an hour and fifteen minutes. There are several bus lines that go to Genting Highlands from Kuala Lumpur, and you can find their ticketing counters right at KL Central.

While our hotel room was pre-booked, we had to buy our bus tickets there. We took the one that is tied up directly with Resorts World Genting. It was about RM65 (Malaysian Ringgit) for a package with round trip bus ride, round trip cable car ride and a buffet lunch.
After getting off the bus, we took the cable car to the hotels. Luggage must be left with them as it is not allowed inside the gondola. They will take care of transporting it to your hotel. The ride was about 15-20 minutes over lush green forest. It was a great opportunity to challenge my fear of heights. But hey, I am glad cable cars did not scare me at all!

It was a sunny day, but ground temperature was 20°C at high noon. At mid-afternoon, temperature dropped to 12°C outside with thick fog. Inside our hotel room, it was 15°C.

We stayed at First World Hotel, the least expensive of the five hotels in Resorts World Genting. It was the world's largest hotel until 2008 with over 6,000 rooms. Their rooms are not equipped with A/Cs because there really is no need. At 6pm, indoor temperature was at 11°C and I had no thick clothes so I had to put on layers of clothes.

Resorts World will not be complete without casinos. Other than the casinos, they have a theme park which is already kinda old. Months after our visit, they closed the theme park down to rebuild it.

I love the weather in Genting Highlands! If it is near where I live, I would love to spend my lazy days up there.
