Dreamy Beach Villa in Mactan

It is already mid-March. Although weather is still temperamental these days (starts sunny in the morning but ends up with heavy rain in the afternoon), we can almost smell summer. 

Have you made your plans yet? I know, unplanned trips happen more than planned trips, but, if you have made prior bookings and are heading out of town, it is always a good idea to plan early on. If you are a travel plan O.C. like me, the exciting first part of any trip is mapping out an itinerary complete with places to stay, activities for the group and modes of transportation to take.

While getting wild and adventurous sounds like a great plan, at some point in your vacation, you will feel the  need to just relax and savor the moment of being away from your office desk. Staycation, yes! That's what I'm talking about.

Last year, I had a trip to Cebu with some of my closest cousins and aunts. After hectic says of mall-hopping and travelling to the southern part for Simala Shrine and Kawasan Falls, we stayed at a beach house in Mactan. 

Ouano Beach House is a private villa in Maribago, Lapu-lapu City. It is a fully furnished beach house with its own beachfront, private pool and outdoor jacuzzi. It has four air-conditioned bedrooms: one master, one queen, and two bedrooms with single beds. Their published rate is good for up to 10 persons, but the beach house can comfortably accommodate up to 15 persons (kids and adults combined) at an extra fee.

The outdoor pool and jacuzzi is a great place to hang out on a hot summer day or a cold summer night. Drinks on the side are fine. They trust that you are responsible enough to not contaminate their pool with drinks of any sort.

The kitchen is equipped with everything that you need to prepare meals. Just bring groceries with you. If you forget to buy some things you need, there is a grocery store and a local market nearby. The beach will most likely entice you to grill some protein so they can also set up an outdoor grill for you upon request.

This place has everything that you need for a relaxing stay. Its minimalist interior with a lot of natural light coming in, pristine white walls and beach blue doors is calming. It is spacious so you can just be lazy at any part of the house or goof around with your closest family and friends. The place is all yours so laughing out loud is not an issue (unless you do it uncontrollably late at night that guests in the neighboring resort hotel can hear you).

It is a vacation home rental, not a full service apartment so you are basically on your own. There is a security guard on duty 24/7, and a staff that you can call on when you need assistance. He can buy groceries and fresh seafood for you or arrange water activities that you want to take advantage of. Your nearest option is Cebu White Sands which is right next door. You may also order meals from them and have it delivered to the beach house.
