Some Furry Love: TrueLove@Neverland

I learned about this place through a friend who was able to visit Bangkok last year. When I was planning my trip to Bangkok, it was a permanent part of my itinerary. That means, when some of the plans fail due to weather or whatever, the trip to this cafe cannot be cancelled. It was part of our Saturday itinerary. Although we have not had enough shopping at Chatuchak Weekend Market, we had to cut it short to make it to the afternoon playtime with the dogs.

Look at this cutie. You too will drop shopping for some love, right?

Getting There

I have been warned that finding TrueLove@Neverland is not easy, especially for someone who cannot speak Thai so I have printed part of the Google map and maps that I found on other blogs. I even printed the Thai version of the name of the cafe. We hailed a taxi from Chatuchak Market and the taxi driver just gave up when he failed to find it after going around the block twice. He dropped us off and we took a tuktuk who charged 50 Baht (Php71) for two persons for just about 500-meter distance. We cannot complain. We just want to get there.

Therefore, I recommend taking the sky train (BTS) and get off at Ari Station. Get down on the right side of the street when you are facing your train's direction. Ride a tuktuk for 20 Baht (Php28) per person. Print the street map below that I got from a blog and the name of the cafe in Thai. (Sorry, I cannot find the blog anymore. I cannot link the photo for credit). I would like to stress "print" because you will never know when you will run out of battery after a full day out if you just rely on having these important photos saved on your device.

The Cafe

Admission to the cafe costs 350 Baht (Php502) per person. That will give you a choice of drink, a slice of cake, and an hour of interaction with the dogs. You may claim your food before or after play time. They do not pack the food for take out so you have to eat it there. They also have ala carte menu should you need more food.

Playtime

They have scheduled interaction with the dogs so that they will not be stressed out and get sick. The schedule are as follows:
  • Tuesday to Thursdays: 12.30pm and 3.30pm
  • Fridays to Sundays: 12.30pm, 3.30pm and 6.30pm
  • Mondays: Closed
CTTO (again)

Before play time, you will watch a 5-minute video about the dogs and how to interact with them. Although they are used to being around with strangers, there are certain precautions that you need to take note of. Watch attentively. The video is entertaining, I promise.

They are also very particular with hygiene. Shoes have to be taken off and you wear disposable plastic footwear instead. Hands need to be thoroughly washed and then sanitized before you can enter the play area. If you think you are fine without these steps, you still need to comply. It is not for you. It is for the dogs.

That's me in the disposable footwear that they have provided. Say hello to this Australian shepherd.

Their dogs are mostly Siberian huskies, and then they added a pair of akita dogs (like Hachiko) and Australian shepherds. The most popular dog in the pack is Momo, a half shih tzu that has an alpha personality despite being the smallest.

The experience at TrueLove @ Neverland is better shared in pictures. Enjoy!

Time for those carrot nibbles!
