Road to Fitness

How are you? I went into a hiatus from WanderMom because... No, there's no good excuse.

Anyway, I'm revisiting this blog to document a journey. By putting it into something solid, I am hoping to be (more) inspired to keep myself on track.

Today, I signed myself up to a fitness challenge with some friends. The goal is to improve physical fitness (body mass, muscle strength and endurance) at the end of six weeks. We started measuring all aspects today, calling it the battery test. At the end of the challenge, we will be measured with the same parameters and compare it with today's results.

The Battery Test

Lead by some fitness coaches, we had a series of activities we needed to execute. After stretching, we had a timed 2-kilometer run (4 laps in the oval). I don't really run so that should explain my 16:57 result.

Stretching is a must.
Running... Or at least trying to run.

Olga finished at least a minute ahead of me. Good job! 👍

JB hasn't slept from his graveyard shift yet, but still running.

My baby love, Kino, joined us in the run and he's so happy to finish it faster than I did.

The next test was a round of sit ups, push ups and squats. We had to do as many as we can in one minute. I haven't done any structured exercise in a long (long, long, long) time. I realized I haven't really done push ups my entire life. Ever. My results? It is all below 10 counts for each. Bad, I know.

We will be on our own from today until our final evaluation on November 15. This is where the real challenge comes in. I am determined to get better results. But for how long? We'll see. Indulgence and procrastination will surely be my hurdles.

Join on this road to fitness. If you can't, please at least bear with me. To my friends, let's do this! 💪
